Grilled cheese Sandwiches

Ingredients:

4 slices of bread
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
Optional add-ins: sliced tomatoes, cooked bacon, caramelized onions
Directions:

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
Spread mayonnaise evenly over one side of each slice of bread.
Place two slices of bread, mayo side down, onto the skillet.
Top each slice with shredded cheese and any optional add-ins, if using.
Place the remaining bread slices, mayo side up, on top of the cheese.
Cook until the bottom bread is golden brown and the cheese begins to melt, about 3-4 minutes.
Flip the sandwiches using a spatula and cook until the other side is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted, about 2-3 minutes more.
Remove from the skillet and let cool for a minute before slicing and serving.
