Traditional Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients:

1 cup unsalted butter
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and set aside.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
If desired, fold in chocolate chips into the batter.
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
